The role of Language Experts

There is no translation without language experts; they are the gatekeepers of linguistic quality. The translation workflow has been highly automated for decades, with the use of CAT tools, translation memories, terminology databases, automatic QA… and now AI. But at the end of the process, there is still a need for a language expert to correct and validate what has been produced, not only to avoid obvious errors, but also to ensure that there is no language degradation. In this session, we will focus on the tasks that require language experts, and take a closer look at the task of post-editing.
